Creating a Tasting Experience

Food and wine pairing is serious business at Clif Family where Executive Chef John McConnell and Winemaker Laura Barrett spend many hours together creating the perfect tasting experiences for our guests.

Lucky for them, they have a lot to work with.  Whether it’s dried Hoshigaki persimmons from the Clif Family Farm, local cheeses from neighboring Sonoma County or the abundance of artisan food products we create under our Clif Family Kitchen line, there is a perfect pairing to be had with each of Laura’s wines.

Recently, we spent the afternoon creating new pairing menus for our upcoming spring wine releases.  The results are quite tasty.  One of our favorites – Cowgirl Creamery Mt Tam cheese topped with our Clif Family Kitchen Meyer Lemon Marmalade and paired with our 2016 Rte Blanc Sauvignon Blanc.

You don’t have to reserve a full tasting experience to enjoy our food and wine pairings.  We always offer a seasonal artisan cheese plate and by-the-splash or by-the-glass offerings of our Clif Family Wines.
